This page explains what personal data The Guide Foundry collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What we collect

• Order details — your name, email address, billing address, what you bought, the amount and the date. We need these to sell you something and to keep the records tax law requires.
• Payment data — handled directly by the payment provider. We never see or store your card number.
• Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, pages visited. Collected automatically while you browse.
• Your email for marketing — only if you chose to give it.

Why we use it

• To deliver your files and answer you if something goes wrong. Without this there is no order.
• To keep accounting and tax records, because we are required to.
• To send you a new edition of a guide you bought, when one is released.
• To send marketing email only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the link in every message.
• To keep the store working and prevent fraud.

Who else sees it

Only the services needed to run the store: Shopify, which hosts it; the payment provider, which takes the payment; the app that delivers your download; and the email service that sends order messages. They process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes. We do not sell your data to anyone.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records for as long as tax law requires. Marketing contact details until you unsubscribe. Technical logs for a short period.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union you can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, take it elsewhere, or object to us using it for marketing. Write to hello@theguidefoundry.com and we will answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Cookies

The store uses cookies that are necessary for the cart and checkout to work at all. Any analytics or marketing cookies are optional and controlled by the cookie banner, which you can change at any time.
